What is Your Personality Type? [VOTE]

Do you know/remember your four-letter Myers-Briggs Personality Type? Vote below for your type. If you don’t know your type or don’t remember, check out this short MBTI test and see if you can make an educated guess.

I have  a suspicion that most of us are going to be idealists (NF type). Let’s find out!

I’m an ENTJ. I have been taking Adderall XR for five years at therapeutic doses as prescribed by my doctor (20MG once daily). I don’t have ADHD and I have had Adderall prescribed for me off-label to treat chronic fatigue and lethargy.

Through the years, the only noticeable personality alteration I have observed is that I have become a more amplified version of myself. My behavior, personality characteristics, and mindset have become “magnified” but not underwent any detriment in the wake of Adderall administration.

The only negative remark I can conjure is that Adderall has made me more of a workaholic and has blown my ambition beyond the scope of my budget.

How interesting that no one so far has answered this poll with an S+J type. I’m curious about this. Is it that people who get diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Adderall are more likely to be Ns and Ps? Or that people who wind up with addiction problems are? Hm. I’d be really interested to read studies on this, if any exist.

  3. Mike says:

@R. – Yeah it’s really interesting. Adderall is a mental drug that focuses an unfocused mind. N’s more mental than S’s, and P’s are more unfocused than J’s tend to be. Plus, I don’t see many Traditionalists (SJ’s) being zoomed-out enough to think of Adderall as anything but a medicine (so they’d have little reason to search for a website like this).

I actually thought we’d have more idealists (NF). Adderall is nothing if not the ultimate drug for idealists. My own personality type was INTP while I was on Adderall, and shifted to INFP after I quit. Anyhow, I’m glad people are voting because these results are cool!

  4. sboo says:

It’s been one year today since I took adderall. I saved the results from the Myers-Briggs test I took from two years ago. I was an ISTP. The crazy thing is that when I took it again just recently, I was an ENFJ?!?! The complete opposite….. In both cases I took the test and had matching results each time. wow. interesting.

  5. Mike says:

@sboo – Happy Quitting Adderall birthday! Your personality type change actually doesn’t surprise me as much as it should. But it does surprise me that you shifted so radically. I changed from INTP to INFP, which is still a big shift, but not nearly as much as changing ever single letter like you did haha. I think we’ve got a little anecdotal proof here that Adderall definitely changes personality.

I guess it does make sense though that you were an highly-mental type on adderall, and then an highly-heartfelt type without it. So even though your type changed more drastically than mine, we both changed in the same direction.

  6. n says:

Adderall makes you more distant and less emotional. I am an INFP, but that’s because I no longer take the blue devil. I can tell you that while on adderrall I was extremely impulsive and hypersexual. It took a huge following on my relationship with my wife, so I stopped. Adderall consumes your soul. Once you take that pill, you essentially sell your soul to the devil I believe.

  7. a says:

don’t remember the paper, but there is a study on this. ADHD is correlated with higher iNtuitive and Percieving scales

  8. Mike says:

@a – That’s really interesting. Makes total sense. I’ll probably find it on my own, but if you come across that study again please post a link.

  9. InRecovery says:

About 8 months after I quit adderall, I felt like I didnt know much about myself. I took the Meyers Briggs test and was ISFP.

Now I have been clean for a little over two years and I understand my strengths and weaknesses better and I took the test and am an ESFJ.

    hmm..

  10. Kevin says:

I was an INTP while on adderall for 9 years. After 2 months sober, I am more INFP.

  11. mix says:

ENFP before adderall, INFP durring addreall, where will I be after?

  12. Liz says:

INTJ…I took Adderall for 4 years. I have been off adderall for the last 5 months and still reaping the reprucations…

  13. Richard says:

I’m an INFP and it seems like a lot of others on here are too. This is interesting because I read somewhere that only 5% of the population is this type

  14. Anonymous says:

I wonder if those who are INFP are more prone to have addiction issues? Just because of the way they are emotionally wired?

  15. Josh says:

ENFP before, INFJ during – I’m a 31 year old who went from Ritalin kid to Adderallic at age 17, and to keep myself from binging the day of refill, I have to have my damn MOM bring me my pills daily – she lost them 6 days after refill, and I am sentenced to weeks of sweaty withdrawals. I am given hope by this site, but I’m also really fucking scared. Adderall has been more than my crutch, it is a parasittic twin that has me convinced I can’t live without it – let’s hope I get back to an ENFP

  16. Ben says:

I noticed while researching my INFP personality I saw how most people commenting and asking similar questions happened to either be an INFP or in the Idealist group. Knowing that 4-5% of people have that personality I was confused, but I think Idealist like myself are always looking for answers so they tend to be more interested in asking questions or even searching a personality test in the first place. Haha

  17. Lauren says:

I was never prescribed, but took it very frequently thanks (or really, no thanks) to a sister and friend lending me some of theirs’ whenever I wanted. I am an ENFP, and tested as that way before I ever tried it. I took adderall on and off for about 3 or so years during college. If I would’ve re-tested on it, I probably would’ve gotten something different every time. Being hyper-intuitive and hyper-sensitive, adderall made me over-think and over-analyze the shit out of any and everything, even MORE than normal for an ENFP. I like that my mind runs fast, but not in a million circles, squares, light years, etc..
