Katie Couric Special on Adderall [VIDEO]

Best. Adderall graphic. Ever. I should find that graphic designer and get him/her to send me the original copies of those little pills with the graduate caps on them. Classic.

The special is called “Popping Pills a Popular Way to Boost Brain Power”. Picture above links to the video. I’ve seen a lot of these specials. I think I like this one the best. Rather than pointing to these “crazy, out of control kids doing their new drug of choice”, she takes more of a “healthy people trying to be smarter” approach to the topic…which is more realistic in my experience.

   Hmmm, the idea about stimulants being more widely prescribed is really scary. Hopefully that doesn’t happen. It reminds me of “The Matrix”, or the aformentioned Huxley novel “Brave New World”.. Pop this (blue) pill and you can tolerate this place that has been created for you by your ancestors. Plus, you will be able to perform better, faster, stronger, harder.. Yuck.

   Funny that the same doctor mentions sleep, exercise and nutrition.. How about we just get the sleep, exercise and nutrition to begin with instead of popping a pill as an unhealthy substitue for healthy behavior??

   I really wish that I wouldn’t have asked for the blue pill to begin with… kind of like “The Matrix”..

   @Elizabeth. Seriously. I swear that having money for treatment is an issue. When, as a doctor, you can only see somebody for 15 minutes once a month, there’s not much intensive helping you can do…especially when a quick brain chemistry remix makes them instantly satisfied. It’s all F’d. Maybe it’ll rebound eventually.

   er…i made a paper cut-out of a 30mg tab of adderall and pasted it to the top of my graduation cap so all could see that i graduated college with help from a little orange friend…
